Structure
Course Rationale / Aim
The aims of the programme are intended
for those seeking a career in Dive Leadership, Instruction
and Business Administration. The programme is also appropriate
for prospective executives who would like to have knowledge
of the various disciplines required for the effective
management of dive businesses. Moreover, the qualifications
are useful as a stepping-stone for students wishing to
start or further their studies in Dive Business Administration,
Training and Management.
Students will also have the opportunity
to study a major in Dive Leadership / Instruction and
Resort Management.
Students may also wish to specialise
unto the Advanced Diploma OR Sports Degree. This however
requires recommendation by the teaching board.
At the end of the programme, students
will have:
1. A high level of communication and
interpersonal skills, capacity for self
development and be able to effectively respond to changes
in business environment
2. The ability to identify and analyse
business problems, training challenges, safety considerations
and contingency plans so that plans and policies can be
formulated and implemented
Students who complete the Diploma
in Dive Leadership and Instruction will have to complete
6 core modules. They can then go on the Higher Diploma
in Dive Leadership and Instruction I where they need to
complete 4 major modules and 4 other major modules to
complete the Higher Diploma in Dive Leadership and Instruction
II.
Students who complete the Diploma
in Dive Business Administration will have to complete
4 core modules. They can then go on the Higher Diploma
in Dive Business Administration (Tourism & Dive Resort
Management) where they need to complete 4 major modules.
